How to Make an Easy Christmas Countdown in Your Bullet Journal.

Christmas is my favorite time of year! I always find myself counting down before Halloween is even close! Yes… I’m that person!

Being the artsy person I am, I decided to start making coloring countdowns in my bullet journal! The idea is to have an ornament or something to color in every day of December counting down to Christmas Day.

In this post, I’ll show you a few of the ones I’ve made, and tell you how to make one of your own!

Supplies

Here is a list of things you will need to create your own Christmas countdown:

  • Journal or blank paper. You can find the Archer & Olive bullet journals I LOVE to use here.

  • Circle stencil. Find the one I use in this post here.

  • Pencil of your choice.

  • Micron Pens

  • Medium of your choice to color in the ornaments! My favorites are: Archer & Olive Acrylograph pens, or Sakura Gelly Roll pens. You can also use colored pencils, markers, or colored pens!

*If you visit Archer & Olive and want to purchase any goodies, use code: HOLLY10 for 10% off your purchase!

How To Make A Christmas Countdown

First, write something at the top of your countdown page like I did. It can say whatever you want! I chose, “Christmas Countdown.”

Next, use your circle stencil to draw 25 different circles that will be your ornaments. I personally like different sizes, but you can make it any way you desire!

Use the straight edge of your stencil, or a ruler if you prefer that. Draw lines connecting each ornament to the words at the top of your page.

*Helpful tip: I always use pencil first so I can erase the lines if they accidentally go over another ornament.

Trace back over everything with your micron pen once it looks exactly how you want it!

Finally, when it’s time to decorate the ornaments, I choose one design each day of the month, counting down until Christmas Day. I draw my design with pencil first, then go over the lines with my micron pen. Erase any showing pencil lines, then fill in how ever you like!

Other Bullet Journal Countdown Ideas

If ornaments are not your thing, I’ve also done present coloring countdowns!

The one I’m about to start December 1st, 2020 is not yet colored, but I wanted to share it in case it gave you inspiration!

Christmas Present Countdown - Bullet Journal

Another countdown idea I created several years ago was a weekly count down!

I was particularly busy that year and started counting down to Christmas in October. I decided to color in a present each week until Christmas.
