About the Dingbats Earth Collection

There are four different journals to choose from.

  • The Arctic Journal - Glacial White

  • The Great Barrier Reef Journal - Sky Blue

  • The Serengeti Journal - Tangerine

  • The Yasuni Journal - Lime

Each journal highlights a specific ecosystem that is in a fragile state due to human activity. Inside the cover of each journal is a unique layout of the highlighted region. It shares information you can explore to learn more about the dangers being faced there, and how we can help potentially turn things around.

I love how each design is so well thought out, original, and made with purpose.

Environmentally Friendly - They’re Green!

Another thing I love about this company is they use 100% vegan materials. They are the first journal company to hold this certification. They use recycled materials, and the journals themselves can even be recycled. (See the “We’re Green,” section of their website to read full disclosure).

Knowing this makes me feel better about the journal I’m using! I also love that we can help support these environments by choosing this brand.

My Favorite Things about the Earth Collection

Besides the beautiful designs of these well made notebooks, I want to share my personal favorite things about these journals that may help you decide if this line is right for you.

In the front of the journal, there are pages laid out for you to set up your journal successfully with all of the details you need!

These pages include:

  • Journal how to pages

  • Tab key

  • Color key

  • Dingbat key

  • 3 Index pages

  • 4 Future Log pages that have perfect grid spacing lines for reference

Notice there are lines measuring out the proper grid spacing to help you create and even section for your future log!

There are 2 different colored book marks!

I love having 2 book marks. I often keep track of multiple pages at one time, and this really benefits my journaling habits.

Elastic closure bands!

I love a journal with elastic closure bands! I appreciate this feature in a journal because I like to keep my pages safe if I slip it into my purse or backpack. It keeps the pages safely in place and doesn’t allow little extras to fall out if I don’t have them secured to the pages yet.

Dot-grid-pages.jpg

Dot Grid Pages

I prefer dot grid pages to lined pages for journaling. I feel like it takes the limits off of writing only horizontally. I have many different journaling styles I like to use and these pages help so much!

These dot grid pages also help me draw fun doodle boxes and headers to make my journaling more fun and eye catching.

back-pocket-journal.jpg

Back Pocket built into the journal

I love that these journals have an expandable back pocket feature built into the cover of the journal.

It allows you to keep extras like, my mini ruler, stickers, stencils, tickets, photos and papers you’d like to include in your journal later! I find this feature very helpful.

BONUS: Look how pretty these illustrations are!

Pen Test Page

How do the pages hold up to my favorite journaling pens?

The big question everyone wants to know…. Do pens and markers bleed?

On this pen test page I used:

The left photo is the pen test page. The right photo is the back of the test page.

There is very minimal ghosting with the pens I selected to use. It does NOT effect my journaling at all and I use the front and back of every page.

I would not use this journal for…

  • Watercolor painting

  • Acrylic painting

  • Classic Sharpies
