Bullet Journaling is a practice that has been shown to help people with everything from mental health, stress management, and even weight loss. Even when things are busy, it’s important to take time out of your day for yourself. This is one practice that will make you feel amazing at the end of it!

At the bottom of this post, I have put together a list of self-love affirmations to get you started with ideas on what to write in your journal.

10 Tips to Get Started on Your Journey to Self-Love

1) Write out the things you love about yourself each day. If you can't think of anything, try looking in the mirror and complimenting yourself aloud. This may seem silly at first, but over time it will become easier and more natural as your brain gets used to this new habit.

2) Give yourself compliments often throughout the day without waiting for someone else to give them to you first. This is especially important if you have low self-esteem because these small acts of kindness will be even more potent than they would otherwise be!

3) Spend your time wisely. Don’t put off tasks that you don't enjoy, take care of them right away, so they are out of the way. Once those tasks are out of the way, you will feel better that they are accomplished! You deserve to do things that make you happy, so take time for some feel-good activities after those less enjoyable tasks are out of the way. For me, feel good activities are journaling, watching a movie, or spending time in nature with my family.

4) Don't let people bully you. If someone makes fun of you, calmly tell them what they said was not funny and move on with your day. You should never have to stand for being degraded when it is in no way deserved!

5) Create a mental list of everything in your life that makes you happy throughout each day. Your heart will be warmed by the end when reminding yourself how much good there is around us all the time if we just choose to see it!

6) Be your own best friend! Encourage yourself every day to keep going, even if it is just for five minutes.

7) Treat people kindly and with respect. There are so many amazing things about each person walking the earth. Why would you want to be anything but kind? When we treat others with kindness and love, it makes us feel better, and we will receive kindness and respect in return. Remember the golden rule!.

8 ) Find joy in small moments. Even if your days are full of stressful tasks, take a few seconds to revel in the fact that you have enough food for tonight's dinner or that you managed to get out of bed this morning. Enjoy your morning cup of tea or coffee or a good book during your break time. Life is hard at times, but there are always little reasons to feel grateful!

9) Get outside more often. Go for a walk and look at the beauty around you! Pick yourself some flowers if they are present. Breath in the fresh air to refresh your senses. Sunlight can also help elevate serotonin and dopamine levels and make us happy! Even if it’s just your fifteen minute break at work, get outside!

10) Create a morning routine where you can start the day off in a good way. Prayer, journaling, and positive affirmations are great daily practices to start the day in positive ways. Many people start the day the wrong way by waking up only to rush to a job they don't like and never take time for themselves. That's a recipe for a bad day. How will you choose to start your day?

Final Thoughts

The more time you spend practicing self care, the better.

One of the best ways to practice self care is by journaling and writing down all of your positive qualities and accomplishments in a self-love journal. Another great practice is meditating on what makes you happy in life - even if that means taking some deep breaths when things get tough. What's important is getting back into the habit of caring for yourself, which can help boost your confidence levels. That is an accomplishment worth celebrating!
